Bhutan is a truly beautiful and peaceful country with amazing landscapes and the most friendly and kind people. We had an amazing week-long tour that covered Thimphu, Punakha and Paro, and we witnessed two Tshechu festivals in Thimphu and Gangtey. I don’t even know where to begin as there were so many memorable moments on the trip. Our photography guide Michael Lee was excellent as he had been to Bhutan 9 times before this and planned the itinerary for us. Our local guide Chencho Tsering was also exceptional - he was very knowledgeable about Bhutan’s history, culture and traditions and always so nice and helpful. He took such good care of us and helped me navigate the uneven surfaces and many steps we encountered along the way. Our driver Sigay was so nice too and a very experienced driver since some of the roads were steep and windy. Overall, such a wonderful team whom we were with for the week who made our stay so lovely.
I enjoyed every day of our trip and we would say it was the best day .. only for it to be overtaken by the following day which would also be a best day! There was just so much to see and to do and immerse ourselves in the amazing sights and scenery that surrounded us at every place. I loved brilliant blue skies that greeted us every day. The food was pretty good - I loved all the ema datshi that I had and the fresh organic vegetables and the best momos ever in a local restaurant in Paro! Bhutan has a way of capturing our hearts.. I would love to visit again! Meantime, a big Kadinchey to Michael, Chencho and Sigay and the team at SoulTrips and DrukAsia for a most wonderful experience!
