Drukair signed a memorandum with Changi Airport to start direct flights between Singapore and Bhutan on 17th May 2012. Singapore-Bhutan flights commenced on 1st September 2012 with twice a weekly schedule. Royal Bhutan Airline, Drukair, is the only airline that flies to Paro Intenational Airport, Bhutan, from Singapore.

Flights from Singapore to Bhutan are expected to take 5 hours excluding a 45-minute refuelling stopover in Guwahati. Passengers will not be required to disembark from the aircraft, hence visas to India will not be required for passengers travelling to Paro. The flights typically depart Changi Airport around 1255pm.
Prior to Oct 2019, Drukair used to fly to Paro via Kolkata. With the view to help the Royal Government of Bhutan to bring tourism and economic growth to Eastern Bhutan, this flight was re-routed to have her short stop-over at Guwahati, making entry to eastern Bhutan easier for travellers. The border check-point of Smadrup-Jongkar is only a 2 hours drive from Guwahati airport, allowing travellers to traverse thru untouched Eastern Bhutan to the more developed Western Bhutan in one single trip.
