The Soup Spoon's Souper Chef Anna visited Bhutan for the first time in February 2014 and found inspirations for new soups based on Bhutanese cooking style and ingredients. Upon her return to Singapore, she created three new soup recipes suitable for The Soup Spoon's Singapore audience.

During her trip to Bhutan, Anna discovered Bhutan to be "an extremely picturesque country nestled in the midst of the Himalayas that offers tourists breathtaking views of its untouched nature and rich biodiversity". She visited two homes where she got to see how the locals prepared dinner with fresh ingredients and enjoyed the delicious home-cooked fare.During her tour of Bhutan, Souper Chef Anna also visited the Centenary Farmer's Market, Tiger's Nest Monastery and farm houses.
