As exclusive and tucked away as Bhutan might sound, this 'Happiest Kingdom on Earth' is really just a five-hour
plane ride away from Singapore. Surrounded by gorgeous vistas of undulating forestry on one side, and the
majestic Himalayas on the other – get your cameras ready because your views onboard Bhutan’s national carrier,
Drukair, will surely be nothing short of spectacular.
NATIONAL PRIDE
Even though the landlocked Bhutan first opened its elusive doors only in 1972, the nation very quickly
caught up with the world, and in 2012, Singapore became the fifth country to be served by Drukair.
Three Airbus A319s are currently in operation, each plane offering 16 business class and
92 economy seats. You don’t have to worry about language barriers either, as the
Bhutanese flight attendants are fluent in English, offering exemplary inflight
assistance and genuine hospitality the country is known for.
